Biscuits and Sausage Gravy are just wonderful for breakfast. Just like in the South!

Biscuits:
 2 cups White Lily self rising flour
 1/3 cup shortening
 2/3 cup buttermilk
 melted butter
Gravy:
 1 pound of sage sausage
 1 quart whole milk
 3 tablespoons cornstarch
 1 quarter cup water
Biscuits:

Preheat oven at 450F

Blend the flour and shortening together

Add in the buttermilk and mix for one minute

Roll out dough approx 1" thick and cut using biscuit ring

Bake for 8 minutes at 450

Brush with melted butter as soon as you pull them out of the oven.

Gravy:

Mix Cornstarch and water, set aside

Brown sausage in heavy aluminum skillet

Add milk bring to slight boil

10

Add cornstarch and water mixture from above

Heat to thicken

Pour over those heated baking powder biscuits.
